When maintenance or checks have been performed on components related to the cruise control
system, be sure to perform a final check before delivering the vehicle to the customer. (Refer to
“[C-2] FINAL CHECK” on page 8-101.)

[A] CHECKING THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM INDICATOR LIGHT
Turn the main switch to “ON”, and then push the cruise control power switch.
1. The cruise control system indicator light does not come on.
• Check the control power switch for continuity. Refer to “CHECKING THE SWITCHES” on page
8-169. If there is no continuity, replace the left handlebar switch.
• Check the fuse for continuity. Refer to “CHECKING THE FUSES” on page 8-173. If the cruise con-
trol system fuse is blown, replace the fuse.
• Check for continuity between the orange/white terminal of the left handlebar switch coupler and
orange/white terminal of the ECU (engine control unit) coupler. If there is no continuity, the wire
harness is defective. Replace the wire harness.
2. The cruise control system indicator light flashes. [B-1]
3. The cruise control system indicator light come on. [B-2]

1. Information for the fault codes from the cruise control system is contained in the following table. Re-
fer to this table or troubleshooting.
