Predelivery check
Checking the cooling water pilot hole
1.
Start the engine, and then check that
cooling water is discharged from the
cooling water pilot hole.
Checking the engine oil level
1.
Place the outboard motor in an upright
position.
If the outboard motor is not level, the oil
level indicated on the dipstick may not be
correct.
2.
Start the engine and warm it up for 5–10
minutes.
3.
Stop the engine and leave it off for 5–10
minutes.
4.
Remove the top cowling.
5.
Remove the dipstick “1” and wipe it
clean.
6.
Insert the dipstick “1” completely for a
correct measurement and remove it
again.
7.
Check that the oil level indicated on the
dipstick “1” is between the upper mark “a”
and the lower mark “b”. If the engine oil is
not at the proper level, add or extract
engine oil.
Checking the main switch/stop
switch/choke switch
1.
Check that the engine starts when the
engine start switch is turned to START.
2.
Check that the engine stops when the
engine start switch is turned to OFF.

3.
Check that the engine stops when the
clip is removed from the engine shut-off
switch.
