Battery (For EF5200DE)

1. Remove the battery.
2. Check the fluid level. Add only distilled water if

necessary. (See page 35; “BATTERY-
Replenishing the battery fluid”)

3. After checking the fluid level, charge the battery.
4. Store the battery in a cool, dark and dry place and

charge it once a month.

Do not store the battery in an excessively warm or
cold place [i.e., less than 0°C (30°F) or more than
30°C (90°F)].

Disconnect the negative lead first, then the
positive lead from the battery.

Connect the positive lead first, then the nega-
tive lead to the battery when installing the bat-
tery.

9

Never smoke or make and break connections
at the battery while charging. Sparks may
ignite the battery gas.

Be sure the battery terminals are tight and that
the battery vent tube is properly routed and is
securely attached to the battery.

Do not disconnect the battery during engine
operation.

9

Avoid operating the generator with the battery
removed.
