Adjustment procedure
The time between key strike and sound output is originally set in accordance with sta-
tistical data. This timing must be further adjusted to account for differences between
individual pianos. Adjustment is made by changing the TIM_OFST values as neces-
sary.
For continuous adjustment, the first beat (of each three beat measure) plays out the
piano tone, while the subsequent beats produce “Clicks” from the internal tone genera-
tor. For single-key adjustment, the tone generator will produce clicks for the first (3-
beat) measure, followed by a piano tone at the first beat of the second measure.
Adjust the TIM_OFST value so that the piano tones play out with uniform timing at
the start of the beat.
It is recommended that this adjustment be carried out following the “keyboard PPP
adjustment” described under heading 2 above.
<Explanation of terms>
• Minimum playback-data value... ppp = xx
Indicates the minimum playback-data value set during minimum-strike adjustment.
The value is shown for reference only; it cannot be changed from within this menu.•
• Offset from initial timing value (TIM_OFSET)
Shows the offset from the initial value, in milliseconds. The setting is adjustable in
increments of 8msec, from a minimum of –80 to maximum of +80. High values pro-
duce longer time gaps between key strike and sound output (slower timing).
