The electrolyte should be between the minimum
and maximum level marks.
4. If the electrolyte is at or below the minimum
level mark, add distilled water to raise it to the
maximum level mark.
NOTICE:
Use only dis-
tilled water, as tap water contains minerals
that are harmful to the battery.

5. Check and, if necessary, tighten the battery
lead connections and correct the breather
hose routing as explained in step 5 of “To in-
stall the battery”.
6. Install the battery cover.
To remove the battery
1. Remove the battery cover by pulling it upward.
2. Disconnect the negative battery lead.
NOTICE:
When removing the battery, the
main switch must be off, and the negative
lead must be disconnected before the pos-
itive lead.

3. Remove the battery holding plate by removing
the bolts.
4. Disconnect the positive battery lead.
