( 1 ) Connect a dummy load/wattme ter to the
rear p anel ANT j ack.
( 2) Set the RF/ AF gain controls fully clockwise ,
set the MOD E switch to F SK, and set TC2 s o 6
t o the 1 /3 capacitance setting, as shown in
Fig. l .
(3) Set the BAND switch to l OD , se t the m ain
tuning dial for a reading of 3 0.000 MHz, and
set the PRESELECT control to the upper end
of the 1 0 m eter band ( fully clockwise) . Set
the LOAD c ontrol to 3 , and dip the P LATE
CONT ROL while tuning.
( 4) Set the CARR control to the 1 2 o 'clock
position. Set the VOX GAIN control to MOX
( for not m o re than 1 0 seconds) , and carefully

the meter. Be sure that the bonding agent has
b een removed before you adjust the cores.
( 5) While receiving, set the MARKER switch ON,
and tune to the c alibrator signal. Adjust T i
for maximum S-m eter deflection.
(6) Now set the B AND switch to l OA, set the
VFO for a display frequency o f 2 8 .000 MHz ,
and peak the PRESELECT control for m axi
mum PO while tuning. Dip the P LATE
c ontrol for minimum IC indication. Now set
the VOX GAI N switch to MOX, and adjust
( 1 1 ) Now you are ready t o align the other bands.
Set the B AND switch to 1 5 , set th e main
tuning dial for a reading of 2 1 .000 MHz, and
set the P RESELECT control at 8 . 6 on its
scale . Dip the P LATE control for minimum
IC indication while tuning. Set the VOX
GAI N control to MOX, and adjust TC2 6 o s
and TC2 s'o s for maximum PO indication on
the meter. On receive, tune in the MARKER
signal, and adjust TC2 4 o s for maximum S
meter deflection.
( 1 2) Set the BAND switch to 20, set the VFO for
a frequncy of 1 4. 000 MHz, and set th e P RE
SELECT c ontrol to 7 . 2 on its scale. Dip the
P LATE control for m inimum IC indication
while tuning. Set the VOX GAIN c ontrol to
MOX, and adjust TC2 6 04 for maximum PO
indication on the m e ter. On receive, tune in
the MARKER signal, and adjust TC2 4 0 4 for
m aximum S-m e ter deflection.

S-meter deflection .
