CHATTER™ DATA LOGGER

Event mode
General
Event mode is in operation if an event log interval is selected. When the Chatter™ Data Logger is in event mode,
all inputs where event logging is enabled, will be logged when the event interval runs out.
If event is enabled on a digital input, an analog input or a Instrument Net input, the Chatter™ Data Logger wakes
up every event interval to check if either a high limit or a low limit is reached. If the level is not reached, the
Chatter™ Data Logger just goes back to sleep. If the level is reached, the Chatter™ Link will start logging data
for all inputs in use with the event log interval.

A Chatter™ Data Logger working in event mode is:
Sleeping to conserve power
Waking up with a set event interval and checks if a level is passed.
Going back to sleep if the level is not passed
Logging selected inputs constantly with event log interval if level is passed.
The green field shows what happens if an
input is set to log on event interval and a high
limit is reached
Event logging starts when the high limit is
reached, logging commences with the event
log interval until the high limit is crossed 'on
the way down'.
In this example, the Chatter™ Data Logger
uses power for event logging in 36 minutes.
This i a normal and recommended setup.
The red fields shows the opposite situation,
an input is set to log on event interval when a
low limit is reached
Event logging starts when the low limit is
crossed 'on the way down' but nothing stops
the event
In this example, the Chatter™ Data Logger
uses power for event logging in an undefined
number of minutes
This is a critical configuration, use it only if
you must, you must be aware of the effect it
has on the battery life.
