Cabinet design
The cabinet is constructed with a narrow baffle -
not only an aesthetically neat shape but also an
advantage in terms of sonic since you have a more
stable baffle which effectively muffles resonances in
the cabinet.
The cabinet is made from 15mm MDF board, which
provides good sonic qualities.
Since the cabinet is small, its stable and without
resonances.
Driver
We have chosen a Peerless 3” full range driver from
Danish/American Tymphany
For being such a small full range driver, this has
really good properties when we talk about sound
pressure and quality.
The excursion and linearity of the sound is unique
for this driver.
A Neodymium motor structure and double-venting
system that helps keep dynamic range intact, as the
transducer can handle more power and dissipate
excess heat efficiently.
An anodized aluminium dome provides superior
sound dispersion and off-axis response. A semi-
progressive surround reduces distortion, especially
at high output through long excursion.
The drivers’ direct connected dome dust cap
(connected to the magnet system voice coil)
improves dispersion at high frequencies, providing
superior sound on the high notes.
The inserted cupper cap on the pole piece ensures
control the system impedance, thereby extending
the upper frequency range
We tested a lot of full range drivers from many
manufactures, and we found that Peerless 3” is one
of the best on the market.
Terminal/Cross over
The terminal is gold plated and accepts both
banana plugs and cable.
Full range drivers don’t need any cross over, which
improves the sound quality since the amplifier is
connected direct to the speaker.
