Terminating Field Wiring to the Termination Card
The VLC-605 unit contains a Termination card that supplies two terminal blocks for termination of all
necessary field wiring. Figure 6-4 below demonstrates the placement of various terminal blocks and
connectors in the VLC-605. All field wiring shall enter the VLC-605 through the various cable entry points on
the top and side of the unit. See Figure 6-1 and Figure 6-2 and chapter 6.7 on page 15 for details. All wiring
shall meet all “Local and/or National” wiring requirements.

Procedure to Terminate Conductors to the Termination Card
All wiring shall meet all “Local and/or National” wiring requirements. The following suggested procedure listed
below is a minimum. Should conflicts exist local / national code shall be followed.
a. Strip off approximately 5 to 10mm (0.25 inch) of outer insulation from each wire.
b. Twist wire strands together for multi-stranded wire only.
c. Insert wire into terminal.
d. Tighten terminal screw. Check the wire is firmly attached to the terminal.
e. Ensure no bare wires are exposed at the terminals. The wire insulation must meet the edge of the terminal
block.
f. Check the terminations are correct by referring to the appropriate circuit diagrams in this guide.
