Using a chest belt
1.
Attachthe transmitter tothe elastic strap using the lock button.
2.
Adjust the strap as tightly as possible as long as the strap is not too tight toremain
comfortable.
3.
Position the transmitter with the logo centered in the middle ofyour torso facing
away from your chest (some people mustposition the transmitter slightly leftof
center).Attach the final end of the elastic strap by inserting the round end and, using
the locking parts, secure the transmitter and strap around your chest.
4.
Position the transmitter directly below the pectoral muscles.
5.
Sweat is the best conductor tomeasure very minute heart beat electrical signals.
6.
However, plain water can also be used topre-wet the electrodes (2 ribbed oval areas on the reverse side ofthe
belt and both sides ofthe transmitter). It’salso recommended thatyou wear the transmitter strap a few minutes
before your work out. Some users, because of body chemistry, have a more difficult time inachieving a strong,
steady signal atthe beginning. After“warming up”, this problem lessens.
7.
Yourworkout mustbe within range - distance between transmitter/receiver – toachieve a strong steady
signal. The length ofrange may vary somewhat but generally stayclose enough tothe console to maintain good,
strong, reliable readings. Wearingthe transmitter directly on bare skin assures you of proper operation. Ifyou
wish, you may wear the transmitter over a shirt.Todo so,wet the areas ofthe shirt thatthe electrodes will
restupon.
Note
:The transmitter is automatically activated when it detects activity from the user’s heart.Additionally,it
automatically deactivates when it does not receive any activity.Although the transmitter is water resistant,
moisture can have the effectofcreating false signals, so you should take precautions tocompletely dry the
transmitter afteruse toprolong battery life (estimated transmitter battery life is 2500 hours). The replacement
battery needs to be of the type CR2032.
In case of malfunctions....
Caution!
Do not use this treadmill forheart rate programs unless a steady, solid actual heart
rate value is being displayed. Very high or random values being displayed indicate a problem.
Possible causes of malfunctions regarding the heart rate accuracy:
1.
Microwave ovens,TV’s,small appliances, etc.
2.
Fluorescent lights.
3.
Some household security systems.
4.
Perimeter fence fora pet.
5.
Some people have problems with the transmitter picking up a signal from their skin. Ifyou have problems
trywearing the transmitter upside down. Normally the transmitter will be e put on in that way, that the logo
is faced up.
6.
The antenna thatpicks up your heart rate is very sensitive. Ifthere is an outside noise source,
try turning the whole belt by 90 degrees – this may help to improve the accuracy.
7.
Another person is wearing a transmitter within 3’ofyour machine’s console.
Ifyou continue toexperience problems contact the customer service.
