**Note:** This installation requires 2 persons.

**Lower Brackets (Fig 1):**

1. Remove the spare tire and set it aside.

2. Take out the two rubber tire bumpers; these won't be needed as the tire will rest on the rails of the lower bracket.

3. Gently remove the rubber grommet from where the spare tire brake light cable enters the tailgate.

4. If you're installing a tailgate reinforcement plate, follow the manufacturer's specifications for installation.

5. Once the plate is installed and its fit is confirmed, remove the bolts attaching the spare tire bracket (Fig. 3).

6. Use the longer bolts provided; these are designed to accommodate our bracket's thickness and some aftermarket reinforcement

plates. If your reinforcement plate is exceptionally thick, you may need to find suitable longer bolts.

7. Inside the plastic stock spare tire carrier, you might need to release cable ties to create more slack in the cable. You can also pull

some cable through the grommet from within the tailgate.

8. Test fit the left and right brackets (Fig. 4).

9. Align the left bracket with the stock tire carrier and insert a screw to align one hole (Fig. 5).

10. Begin threading the bolt through the spare tire mount and the left lower bracket (Fig. 6). Ensure these are threaded but kept

loose.

11. Add the remaining bolts on the left side and keep them loose. Repeat the same steps to install the lower bracket on the right side

(Fig. 7).

12. Once all bolts are loosely threaded, ensure the brackets are properly aligned and then tighten all the bolts (Fig. 8).

13. Re-insert the rubber grommet (Fig. 9).

**Spare Tire Installation:**

(Tires with a size of 285 to 315 Use Optional Spacer. Hardware kit replaces spare tire lugs.

Install spacer with 3 provided lug nuts and tighten, Install spare on spacer with 5 lug nuts provided and tighten.)

1. Install the spare tire as you normally would. Start by attaching one of the top lug nuts to pull the tire closer to the brackets, then

proceed to install the remaining two lug nuts.

2. Tighten the lug nuts evenly until they are securely fastened. You can slightly deflate the tire to 5-10 psi to make it easier to install

the spare; remember to inflate it back to the recommended pressure once it's properly installed.

**Upper Brackets (Fig 2):**

1. Slide the upper brackets into the left and right positions, aligning the threaded inserts with the outer part of the bracket.

2. There are three positions available based on your spare tire's size. For optimal results, keep the rack as close to the top of the tire

as possible.

**Rack/Box Installation:**

1. Now you're ready to mount your cargo deck or storage box. For the X-Rack UM-One cargo deck, use the provided bolts for

mounting.

2. Place rubber pads between any metal rack and the bracket to minimize vibration. Cut three pieces for each side.

3. If you're mounting a plastic case or box, you'll need to drill holes in the box, aligning them with the nuts on the top of the bracket.

4. Position the box on the bracket, ensuring it's where you want it. From the underside, mark the holes through the nuts on the upper

bracket.

5. Drill holes in the box and use bolts along with fender washers to securely fasten it.
