4.
Before commissioning, check all hoses for damage and immediately replace defective or dam-
aged hoses.
5.
Then attach the air inlet hose to the quick connector nipple of the grease pump.
6.
Connect the grease pump to the grease gun using the appropriate hose. Make sure that all
connectors are clean and correctly connected before tightening the screws with a wrench.
7.
Connect the pump to the compressor and start it. Actuate the pressure regulating valve and
make sure that the pressure does not exceed 8
bar.
8.
After the pump has been pressurised, it will begin to move up and down and release air through
a sleeve.
9.
After the movement has come to a standstill, make sure that no grease is leaking anywhere.
10.
You can now use the grease gun.
Important notes
To ensure the longevity of the pump and to achieve optimum and flawless performance, observe the
following instructions:
•
The compressed air should be filtered to prevent ingress of dirt particles and additional wear of
the pump and its parts.
•
The pressure under which the device is used should not exceed 8
bar in order not to affect the
integrity and longevity of the individual components and hoses.
•
When using high-pressure grease hoses, make sure that hoses are neither bent nor squeezed
by pulling and tensioning them too hard. If the device is not used, the quick connector nipple
should be loosened. You should also operate the grease gun to free the hoses and other com-
ponents from residual pressure.
•
The pump should be lubricated at regular intervals.
•
Do not use the machine if the grease level is too low as this may cause overheating and damage
to the piston and other parts.
•
Clean the pump regularly and remove grease residue. To do this, remove also the grease gun
to prevent possible damage. For cleaning the grease channels only use a cleaning oil and make
sure that the grease in the storage tank of the pump is free of impurities.
Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible causes
Solution
The lubricating grease is not
pumped properly
Loose loading bar
Re-attach the loading board.
Grease inlet contaminated
Locate and remove the dirt.
Grease too viscous
Change the lithium grease sea-
sonally:
•
1–2× in winter,
•
2× in spring,
•
2× in autumn, and
•
2–3× in summer.
Valve contaminated
Remove the dirt.
Not enough grease in the con-
tainer
Fill up the grease.
Pressure loss
Valve seals ware
Replace the seals.
Loose sliding shoe or locking
plate screws
Locate and fix the loose parts.
Insufficient grease release pres-
sure
Parts of the output hose blocked
Find and clean the blocked ar-
eas.
