(IHO) provides self-signed SA certificate (in X509 format) for verifying if S-63 data packets
of electronic charts come from data service providers of electronic charts authorized by
IHO.
SA certificate is generally named IHO.CRT. You can download an SA certificate from the
official website of IHO:
www.iho.int → Home → Publications → Download List → S

-63 SA Certificate
Some data service providers of electronic charts may include the SA certificate in the
released root directory of S-63 data packets of electronic charts (e.g. D:\IHO.CRT). You
can also install such SA certificate. However, you are strongly recommended to download
it from the official website of IHO and install it, in order to make sure that the SA certificate
isn’t fake.
The latest SA certificate has been installed on Xinuo ECDIS when it is released from the
factory. You can view detailed information of the SA certificate in its dialog box, or you can
log onto the official website of IHO to download and install the updated SA certificate by
yourself.
3. 5.1 Installation of SA Certificate
Click “install certificate” and open the file dialog box. Only the certificates named
as IHO.CRT can be displayed in the file dialog box.
Choose the SA certificate you need to install and click “open”.
If the SA certificate valid, the installation will be successful without any prompt.
If the SA certificate is invalid, you will get following prompts:
“SSE 06 - this SA
certificate (public key) is invalid. IHO would have updated the SA certificate,
and please acquire a new one from the official website of IHO.”
After installing the SA certificate, you can view detailed information of the
certificate in its dialog box, including issuer, date, expiry date and signature algorithm.
