RAP 4.4: Pump
See Parts List 2.1
Use this RAP to test the pump. If an
image quality problem was not corrected
by cleaning the printhead, it is possible
that a defective pump resulted in
insufficient cleaning of the head,
allowing it to dry out and become
clogged.
1. Check that all ink cartridges are
full and properly seated.
2. Make sure the pump hoses are
connected to the proper inlet and
outlet connectors (Figure 2-17).

3. Make sure the hoses are not pinched
or damaged.
4. Power on the machine.

5. After the POST test completes, clean
the cartridge. Press CARTRIDGE, RIGHT,
ENTER.
Result: The paper feed motor starts running,
turning the pump mechanism. Ink flows from
the cartridge (Figure 2-18) to the pump inlet, and from the
pump outlet nozzle to the ink waste pad.

If the paper feed motor does not activate,
go to RAP 3.1: Paper Feed on page 2-16.
If the pump is turning, but does not pump, replace
the pump (REP 2.1.10: Pump on page 4-13).
