RAP 3.7: Paper Out Sensor
The paper out sensor is located in the
paper cassette.
1. Power on the WorkCentre without
paper loaded in the printer
cassette.
Result: The following message
appears on LCD:
Out of paper.
Please add paper
No:
Make sure the sensor (Figure 2-9)
is not jammed in the down
position.

Yes:
Continue with Step 2.
2. Add paper to the paper cassette.
Result: The out of paper message
goes away.
No:
Go to Step 3.
Yes:
End of RAP.

3. Check the contact points between the printer cassette
and printer as shown in Figure 2-10.

Result: Cassette and printer making good contact.
No:
Check the printer cassette latches. If one or both are broken,
replace. See REP 2.1.20: Printer Cassette Latch on page 4-26.
Yes:
Go to Step 4.
4. Check for a loose or damaged wire harness from the
printer interface PWB to the paper out sensor contact
points. See Figure 2-11.
