Please read this instruction manual carefully before you operate
this converter. On the last pages you will find the technical
specifications of all types.
The converters from the IPC- and IPC series convert the battery
voltage to a stable DC voltage. The converters use the latest
switch mode technology and are developed to meet the modern
automobile applications.
These converters are fitted with the following protections:
Short circuit on the output
The converter will automatically be switched off and restart again
when the short circuit is removed.
Overload
The converter will automatically be switched off when the load is
too heavy. When the overload is removed the converter starts to
operate again.
Under-voltage
If the input voltage is below the specified operating voltage, the
yellow LED ‘battery low’ lights. The converter remains functioning
however the specified specifications can’t be achieved. The
further the input voltage drops below the operating voltage, how
lower the output voltage and output power gets.
Caution:
prolonged low input voltage can damage the converter.
Temperature
All models have a thermally controlled fan. When this cooling isn’t
sufficient and the internal temperature is too high, the converter
will be switched off. The converter will restart automatically when
it has cooled down sufficiently.
