CLI, View–Modify Volume Configuration
View existing volumes from the CLI using the
show volume
command.
Note.
The Local ID (LDID) number provides the means to map the relevant events in the Event Log to the
name given the volume during volume creation. The LDID number for each volume is displayed below the
volume status as shown in the following example.

Change the volume name, cache policy, and optional comment through the CLI using the
modify
command
with the options shown in Table 20 below.

modify --volume= <name>
--name=<new name>
Change the volume name
--write-back or --wb
Change cache policy to write-back
--write-through or --wt
Change cache policy to write-through
--comment= <comment text>
Change the optional comment
Example:
modify --volume=Payroll --name=Transaction --wt --comment=”transaction volume”
Volume7: (Pool 1, 20 GB, Raid 1, Write-Back cache)
