Uploading Data
Once you have collected your data in Program #0, it’s time to upload that data to your computer. Be sure your
Tricoder is turned on, and then plug it into the USB port on your computer. If this is the first time you’ve
connected your new TriCoder, your computer should automatically detect the driver after a few minutes. You
might get a message saying Driver wasn’t installed properly, but it should go away by itself in a couple more
minutes, and you will be good to go.
You can Upload your data into M3 or OASIS. (skip the following M3 directions if using OASIS)
If using M3
Open “M3 Inventory”, and log in. Create a New Session. It is recommended that you name it with the year of
Inventory, and then create sub folders for the different areas of your Library. Go to “File”, then “Upload from
Reader”. In the “Add From Tricoder” window, make sure the blinking cursor is inside the white box.
Now go back to your TriCoder. Select Data upload, which is option 2 on your TriCoder screen. Then press F2 to
upload. Choose “Yes to Data upload”? When the upload is finished, the TriCoder will ask – “End of transmit
Del file (Y/N”)?
Don’t do anything yet!
Go back to M3, and click “Save and Add”. A “Save As” window will display, allowing
you to save your barcodes in a file you name. Click “Save”
Now go back to your Tricoder, and hit “Enter”, then “Enter” again.
At this point, you can power off your Scanner, or begin inventory in another section.
If using OASIS
Sign in to your Oasis account. Once you’re signed in, click the “Inventory” tab. Click the “Create New Session”
tab, then the “Barcode Sets” button. Now choose the
“Add Barcodes From Tricoder”button. The “Barcode Set”
window will open up, and the blinking cursor will appear inside this box. (**Note – once you’ve created a new Session,
you will click on that session, and add your new barcodes. You won’t be Creating a new Session for each new batch of
books you’ve scanned.)
Go back to your Tricoder -
Select Data upload, which is option 2 on your TriCoder screen. Then press F2 to
upload. . Choose “Yes to Data upload”?
When the upload is finished, the Tricoder will ask – “End of transmit Del file (Y/N)?
Don’t do anything yet!
Go back to your OASIS Inventory window. You should see your barcodes appear in the
“Barcode Set” window. Click “OK”, allowing you to confirm the barcodes uploaded. Name your file, and click
“Save”. Finish by choosing “OK”.
Now go back to your Tricoder, and hit “Enter”, then “Enter” again.
At this point, you can power off your Scanner, or begin inventory in another section.
