Conducting An Inventory using your new Worth Data Scanner
The Worth DataTriCoder/Scanner is an extremely versatile bar code reader. It functions as both a portable
data collection device, to be used for Inventory, as well as a fixed on-line bar code reader that can be used for
Circulation. Although the TriCoder can perform complex data collection functions, it's true value is in its
simplicity. With very little instruction, a user can collect data using one of the built-in programs, upload it and
process the data.
Note: Always make sure your unit is fully charged before using
Getting into Data Collection Mode
1. Turn on the TriCoder by pressing the small round green power key located on the top left.
2. The TriCoder will power up and display its opening screen:
3. Press the number 1 (one) on the TriCoder keypad to select
DATA COLLECTION MODE
.
4. Press 0 (zero) on the TriCoder keypad to select the Default Program #
0
. You will now see the words “enter
data”.
Collecting Data
The next step involves collecting data in the TriCoder. Start scanning your barcodes or manually enter the data
on the keypad for any missing barcodes or ones that won’t scan. (Note: to imput letters, press the shift/up
arrow on the top right of the keypad.) Once the item has been manually entered, press the green enter key to
save it. The TriCoder display will scroll with each entry entered. As soon as you are finished entering your
barcodes for your session, press the
END
key to exit
DATA COLLECTION
(don’t worry about your information -
it’s automatically saved).
