Charging the rechargeable battery
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
A faulty electrical installation or excessive mains voltage may result
in an electric shock.
− Only connect the charger to an easily accessible socket so that
you can quickly disconnect it from the mains in case of a failure.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Failure to properly charge the rechargeable battery may damage
the charger and the cordless drill.
− Charge the rechargeable battery at an ambient temperature
between 0 °C and 45 °C. The ideal temperature for charging
the rechargeable battery is approx. 23 °C.
− Charge the rechargeable battery if the rechargeable battery
charge level indicator shows that the rechargeable battery
power is low (red light).
The rechargeable battery is only precharged to a low level. Therefore, charge the
rechargeable battery before first use.
1. Insert the mains plug of the charger
7
in the socket.
2. Push the rechargeable battery release button
8
and pull the rechargeable
battery
6
out of the rechargeable battery holder.
3. Push the rechargeable battery through the charging slot of the charger over the
contacts until it audibly locks into place (see

).
4. The charge indicator will initially illuminate in red.
The charge indicator will turn green once the rechargeable battery is fully
charged. During the charge process, the mains plug, charger and rechargeable
battery will warm up. This is due to operational reasons and is not a defect.
5. Let the rechargeable battery cool down to room temperature if it heats up during
the charging process.
6. Pull the mains plug out of the charger.
