Special safety instructions for the stand-up sander
1. Use protective glasses and only work with the installed spark guard glass.
The grinding machine may only be operated with the installed spark guard glass.
Wear protective glasses.
2. Only use suitable grinding discs.
Only grinding discs with the corresponding labels may be used: Specifications
(cf. with information from this operating manual)
• Characteristics (comparable with the specifications from this operating manual)
• Intake
• Norm
• Type of binding
• Maximum permitted rotational speed
• Manufacturer
Before putting the grinding machine into operation and after changing the grinding
wheel, the grinding wheel should undergo a ring test (faultless grinding wheels
have a clear ring when gently struck with, for example, a plastic hammer).
3. Storage of Grinding Wheels
Store grinding wheels in a dry place at as stable a temperature as possible.
4. Mounting of Grinding Tools
Only the supplied wheel flanges may be used for the mounting of grinding tools.
The wheel flanges must be of the same size and shape. The intermediate layers
between the wheel flange and grinding tool must be made of a flexible material
such as rubber, cardboard or a similar material. The mounting holes of the grinding
wheels may not be subsequently drilled.
5. Test Run Without a Load
Before starting a work activity, switch the grinding machine on for a test run
without a load for a period of 5 minutes. During the test run, remove yourself from
the hazard zone.
6. Attachment of the Grinding Machine to the Work Space
Place the grinding machine on a hard and even surface. Pay attention that the work
space has the appropriate height, so that you can work with the grinding machine
in an ergonomically favourable posture. Screw the machine securely to the surface.
Use suitable carriage bolts and nuts for this purpose. There are suitable holes in the
base of the machine for this purpose.
7. Power Plug
Make sure that the on / off switch is switched off before plugging the power plug
into an electrical socket. In so doing, you will avoid unintentionally starting the
machine.
