SAFETY WARNINGS FOR DRILLS
Wear ear protectors when impact drilling.
Exposure tonoise can cause hearing loss.
Use auxiliary handle(s), if supplied with the
tool. Lossof control can cause personal injury.
Hold power tool by insulated gripping
surfaces, whenperforming an operation where
the cutting accessorymay contact hidden wiring
or its own cord. Cutting accessorycontacting a
“live” wire may make exposed metalparts of the
power tool “live” and could give the operator an
electric shock.
Use suitable detectors to determine if utility
lines arehidden in the work area or call the local
utility companyfor assistance. Contact with
electric lines can lead to fireand electric shock.
Damaging a gas line can lead to explosion.
Penetrating a water line causes property damage or
may cause an electric shock.
Switch off the power tool immediately when
the tool insertjams. Be prepared for high
reaction torque thatcan cause kickback.
The tool
insert jams when:
— the power tool is subject to overload or
— it becomes wedged in the workpiece.
Hold the machine with a firm grip. High reaction
torquecan briefly occur while driving in and
loosening screws.
When working with the machine, always hold it
firmlywith both hands and provide for a secure
stance.
Thepower tool is guided more secure with
both hands.
Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with
clampingdevices or in a vice is held more secure
than by hand.
Always wait until the machine has come to a
completestop before placing it down. The tool
insert can jam andlead to loss of control over the
power tool.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY

DESCRIPTION
The power tool is intended for driving and drilling
through wood, metal, plastics and masonry. It is not
designed for professional use.

Positioning and removing a drill or screw bit
This tool is equipped with a keyless chuck (6).
n Open the chuck by turning the collar (7).
n Insert the drill or screw bit in the chuck.
n Close the chuck by firmly tightening the
collar (7) while holding the rear part of the
chuck with the other hand.
n In order to remove the drill or screw bit
proceed in reverse order.
Before inserting or removing
a drill, always pull the plug
from the wall socket.
