Before Your First Use
Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all packaging materials.
Remove the cooking plates and wash in warm soapy water or place in
the dishwasher. We recommend a “trial run” at a high temperature to
eliminate any protective substance or oil that may have been used for
packing and shipping. Set the UPPER and LOWER plate temperature
to 450°F and run for 15 minutes. You may notice some smoking coming
from your Tri-Grill during this initial phase.
WARNING:
Do not immerse the appliance, cord or plug in water. Never
operate this appliance without the grill plates locked into position on the
main housing. See “Assembling Plates" and "Removing Plates on pages
13 - 14.
To remove any dust that may have accumulated during packaging,
wipe the exterior with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh or abrasive
cleansers on any part of the appliance.
Your Wolfgang Puck Tri-Grill is a versatile appliance that allows you to
grill food with the plates in three different positions. Your Tri-Grill comes
with three plates, two ribbed grilling plates and one flat griddle plate.
The ribbed grill plate with drip holes and the flat griddle plate can only
be used in the LOWER plate position. The solid ribbed grill plate can only
be used in the UPPER position.
Your grill is also equipped with two independent thermostats allowing
you to control the temperature for each plate. For example, you can
open the Tri-Grill to the DUAL position and set one plate to 350°F,
and the other to 425°F. This is ideal when making pancakes or crepes
on the griddle plate, while searing sausage or bacon on the grill plate.
In the CONTACT position both plates come in contact with food for
cooking in half the time it would normally take. The FIXED position is
perfect for melting cheese on open-faced sandwiches or hamburgers.
Place your Tri-Grill on a flat,
level, stable surface. Your Tri-Grill
can be used in three different
configurations. The ADJUSTMENT
LEVER (see Fig. 1) allows you to
select between CONTACT, DUAL,
and FIXED. Ensure that prior to
preheating this appliance that you
have the desired plates locked into
place.
WARNING:
To prevent a serious
burn injury, always ensure that
your Tri-Grill is unplugged and has
completely cooled prior to removing
or adding plates. Always dry plates
thoroughly prior to installing on the
unit.
Do not use metal utensils as they
will scratch the nonstick coating,
use only nylon or plastic utensils.
