7. Cleaning and care
1. Pull out the mains plug and let the appliance cool down for at least 2 hours.
2. Once it has cooled down, use a piece of kitchen towel to remove any fat or other residues from the
grill plates (1).
3. Remove the grill plates and fat drip tray as described in section 4. The dishwasher-safe grill plates
are non-stick coated. This makes them easier to clean and largely prevents food residues from stick-
ing. To extend the service life of the grill plates, and to ensure that the coating is handled carefully,
we recommend cleaning with water and a dishwashing brush with the addition of detergent.
▪ Do not immerse the appliance in water; just wipe it down with a damp cloth and a little
detergent.
▪ Never use abrasive cleaners or hard cleaning pads. Even stubborn food residues can be removed
by soaking for a short time and then cleaning with a soft sponge or a synthetic washing-up
brush in warm soapy water.
▪ Never scratch, stir or cut the coating with sharp, hard objects.
▪ Only use utensils made of wood or heat-resistant synthetic materials.
▪ Do not use any oven sprays, non-stick sprays or similar products.
▪ The electrical contacts on the grill plates (1) and the base of the appliance (6) must be com-
pletely dry before the appliance is reassembled.
4. Once the appliance is fully dry, reassemble it ready to be stored away in a dry environment.
