ready to be used in this passive configuration, reducing the number of amplifier
channels required.
This passive crossover divides the frequencies within the speaker itself, rather
than in the SC-1. Premium components such as heavy gauge, air-core inductors
and film bypass capacitors were selected through extensive blind listening tests
to make the most of the passive design.
Unlike most speakers that can be “bi-wired” or “biamped,” the Point 2 is de-
signed such that the passive crossover is completely bypassed when used with
an active crossover. The result is a direct connection between the amplifier and
the driver, with no unnecessary components in between.
As a result, you can have the best of both worlds, and can even upgrade from
passive to active down the road. (If you think you might, be sure to run four
conductor speaker wire to each speaker location.)
