Chapter 3
– Displays and Operating Modes
Please note that when the on-screen keyboard is displayed, the “EXIT” key and any other buttons on
the screen behind the keyboard are disabled. You must enter or cancel the value before you can
access any other buttons on the screen.
The “ALT” Menu
At the left side of certain screens, an alternate navigation menu called the “ALT” menu appears,
shown below. Typically, the ALT menu is displayed where cursor-and-enter navigation is used on a
screen rather than the touch screen. It consists of the following buttons:
Table 3-2. Button Descriptions
The Help button is active on most screens. As
the label implies, this button provides instructions
for the specific screen you are viewing.
The Camera button, when pressed, captures an
image of the current screen. See
, below, for more information on this
feature.
The Dashboard button, when pressed, displays
the currently active dashboard.
The Favorite button allows you to quickly access
the Run mode screens you bookmarked
(favorited). Also press this button to access,
create, and edit dashboards.
Cursor (arrow) buttons are used to move the
on-screen navigation highlight, to increment and
decrement numeric values, and to set the on and
off angles for programmable cam switches and
die protection ready signals.
When setting ON/OFF timing, the Up/Down
cursor arrows set the ON time. The Right/Left
cursor arrows set the OFF time.
ENTER
– The Enter button is used to select a
highlighted item during navigation, or to register
a value entered into a field.
Screen Captures
At the left of the screen is a camera icon button. Press it to capture the currently displayed screen,
Table 3-2. The screen captures can be either saved internally by the SmartPAC PRO (and later
downloaded or emailed) or they can be saved to a USB drive that is plugged into SmartPAC PRO’s
USB port.
