Installation and Checkout

The instructions below describe how to wire the Shadow transmitter and receiver to the
control.

Terminating Shields of the Head Cables

The shields of the head cables must be terminated close to their entry into the control box.
Follow the instructions in this document for terminating these cable shields.

Follow the steps below to terminate the shields of the cables that connect to your light curtain
heads. Refer to the figure above, the tables on the next page and the figure at the end of this
document.

1. Strip the cable jackets back as far as the end of the conduit fittings.

2. Cut the drain wires to a length that they can reach and be inserted into the set screw

terminal.

3. Loosen the set screw in the set screw terminal. Twist together the ends of the drain wires

and insert in the hole in the set screw terminal under the end of the set screw.

4. Tighten the set screw and check that all drain wires are firmly connected.

5. Connect the rest of the wires in the cables to the terminal blocks as instructed in the next

section.
