Automatic flushing
To maintain the membrane, in the stand-by mode, the flushing mode is switched on
automatically every 2 hours.

5.3 Bypass operation
Bypass operation ensures that the flushing operation can continue despite the fault
message.
IMPORTANT
In bypass operation, the connected warewasher will calcify because no
more demineralised water is produced.
The bypass solenoid valve will be heavily loaded.
Resolve the cause of the fault promptly (
7.1).
If necessary, call an authorised service technician

IMPORTANT
Do not press any other buttons and leave the display unchanged until
the fault has been rectified. Pressing any button deactivates bypass
operation.
5.4 Periods of disuse
Do not switch off the device during periods of disuse up to 3 months.
For periods of disuse longer than 3 months:
Contact an authorised service technician for preservation of the device.
6 Changing the active charcoal filter
The active charcoal filter must be changed at the latest after 140 operating hours.
Caution
When the active charcoal filter is not changed in time, the membranes
can be damaged and the water flow decreases.
Switch to bypass operation (
5.3), if the connected warewasher is to
continue to operate and no active charcoal filter is available.
Make sure that the poorer water quality associated with this is taken
into consideration in the cleaning result.
Only use Winterhalter original parts.

Every time the water is treated, a short acoustic signal is
emitted.
Change the filter.
Counter reset.
Changing the filter
Switch off the warewasher.
Switch off the device.
Operating panel has no display
Close the on-site water stop cock.
Change the filter cartridge as follows:
Turn the filter
cartridge
clockwise by 90°
until it stops.
Pull the filter
cartridge firmly
out of the
housing.
Push the new
filter cartridge
into the housing.
Turn the filter
cartridge counter-
clockwise by 90°
until it stops.

A small amount of water will be expelled during the filter change.
Open the on-site water stop cock.
Switch on the device.
"RoMatix XS" is shown in the display.
