Select and install cylinder
Material damage
Note
Physical damage caused by using force to fit the
cylinder.
You can damage cylinders or parts of the door if
you use force to fit cylinder.
•
Determine the type of cylinder required.

•
Carefully push cylinder into the door lock.
•
Contact specialist company if you have
problems with installation.
Note
Damage caused by incorrect cleaning.
You must not clean or apply lubrication to the
cylinder. Applying oil to the cylinder can damage
the built-in electronics beyond repair.
•
Do not apply oil or grease to cylinders.
•
Do not treat cylinders with graphite.
•
Do not allow the cylinder to come into contact
with paint or thinner.
Note
Physical damage due to face plate screws screwed
into place incorrectly.
Face plate screws which do not grip into the
cylinder thread may cause damage just as easily as
face plate screws tightened too firmly.
•
Ensure that the face plate screw grips into the
designated thread in the cylinder.
•
Use a screwdriver to tighten face plate screw
by hand.
Malfunctions
Note
Malfunctions caused by cylinder installed in the
incorrect position.
Incorrectly fitted cylinders cannot be operated
even though users hold locking rights.
•
Fit cylinders in a vertical position only.
•
Hold cylinder in a vertical position in hand for
tests.

Use cylinders marked '/17' for special installation
situations. Contact Customer Service for more
information.
