Fire hazard
Do not use the heater near combustible materials, flammable gases, other heat sources, or in areas
where these are stored. Further ensure to keep a safety distance of at least 1 m (approx. 3.2 ft) in all
directions from the device before operating the same and make sure that the air can freely circulate in
order to prevent possible fires. Never place the device on soft surfaces, such as beds, as openings
might get blocked.
Do not insert or allow objects to be inserted into the ventilation as this might lead to electric shocks, fire,
or damage to the heater. Never use extension cords as they may overheat and thereby cause fire.
Always make sure to unplug the device when it is not in use.
Burn hazard
Neither touch the heater while it is running nor shortly afterwards as its frame heats up during use and
therefore might cause severe burns when touching bare skin. If provided, use handles when trying to
move this heater, or wait for the device to cool down.
Instructions for use
•
Operation:
Only operate the heater in an upright position, following all the instructions and recommenda-
tions listed within this manual.
•
Placement:
In order to achieve the maximum effect, place the heater in the area of the room that is coldest.
•
Connection:
Directly connect the heater to a 230 V/50 Hz AC wall outlet. Be sure the plug fits tightly and
thereby properly into the outlet. A loose connection might cause the device to overheat and
thereby damage the plug and the heater.
Note:
In order to prevent a circuit from overloading, do not connect the heater to a circuit that
is already strained by other electrical needs.
•
Turning the device on:
First press the power control switch by setting it to either “I” (low) or “II” (high) before then rotat-
ing the thermostat knob clockwise until it reaches the setting for its highest temperature.
Note:
During the initial use of the heater, a burnt smell might come out of the device. We would
like to assure you that this is normal and only a temporary condition caused by the last drips of
lubricant burning off the heating element. The unpleasant smell should disappear after a few
minutes.
•
Power indicator:
When being turned on, the power indicator lamp of the heater will glow in order to indicate that
the heater is functioning.
•
Power switch settings:
This heater has got two different heating settings and can either bet set to “I” (low) or “II” (high).
It is advised to use the “high” setting (1500 W) in order to quickly increase the temperature to
the desired level.
Once the temperature desired has been reached, switch to the “low” mode,
which is sufficient for maintaining a comfortable temperature.
