7.3 Hydraulic connection
• The arrow on the pump housing indicates the direction of flow of the fluid.
• The device must be connected to a vertical pressure pipe only.
• Connect the device at the pressure port using Teflon tape and the appropriate
connections.
• The HR or HC water column must be less than 15 m. There must be no extraction
point between the pump and the device (Fig. 3).
• Flexible collars upstream and downstream of the device will prevent transmission
of any vibrations from the pump and facilitate expansion at the connections.
7.4 Electrical connection
WARNING! Risk of electric shock!
Danger from electrical current must be eliminated.
• Have all electrical work carried out by a qualified electrician only!
• Prior to the electrical connection, the pump must be voltage-free and protected
against unauthorised restart.
• To ensure safe installation and operation, the unit must be earthed correctly with
the earth terminals of the power supply.
• Check that the power supply voltage is 220/250 V, 50/60 Hz.
• Observe the data of the rating plate of the pump.
• The pump must be connected to the HiControl 1 by means of a solid cable.
• Provide a connecting cable of 3 x 1.5 mm
²
(outer diameter of cable of 6 to 9 mm).
• In order to ensure impermeability and protection against accidental ten-
sion on the cable, a cable with an appropriate outer diameter shall be used
(e.g.: H05VV-F3G1.5 or AVMH-I 3 x 1.5).
• Carry out the electrical connection in accordance with the wiring diagram (Fig. 4).
• Mains side protection: see pump, maximum 16 A.
• The pump/installation should be earthed in accordance with the local regulations.
• If necessary, provide a residual-current device.
8 Commissioning
8.1 Start
• Observe the pump’s commissioning instructions.
• Before commissioning the unit, make sure that the pump is ready for operation,
that the suction conditions of the pump are optimal and that the pump is filled
with water.
•
When started for the first time, the pump runs for 8 seconds. Then, the pump can
be restarted on demand by pressing the “RESET” key.
• The pressure corresponding to the zero-flow rate of the selected pump must be at
least 0.5 bar above the 2.2 bar start-up pressure.
