“Burst test menu”
– The burst and power/time template measurements
“BER test menu”
– The quality of the mobile’s receiver, tested using the BER (bit
error ratio) measurements
“MS Info test menu”
– The mobile’s internal data and its SMS (Short Message
Service) functionality
To switch from one test to another, simply use the marker tabs on the right-hand
side of the screen.
On every test menu, there are various functions available like e.g. MS Call, BS
Call, Paging, Audio Loop, Start BER, Release Call and so on. These functions can
be called by a push on the related softkey below the screen. A more detailed
description of the softkeys can be found in section
“Softkeys at test level” on
page 90
.
The burst test menu provides zooming functions that help you to check the
mobile’s behaviour in detail. For more information on those zoom levels, please
refer to section
“Burst test menu” on page 52
.
Basic test menu
Of course, the main application of this menu is speeding up the test of the
mobile’s most important characteristics.
Together with the possibility to adapt the main test parameters to specific
requirements and the reduced signaling functionality, this basic test menu is an
ideal test-time saver.

up has not been completed), the marker tabs will be grayed out.
