6   First Use and Opera�on

Ini�al start-up opera�on may result in minimal smell and smoke (about 15 minutes). This is 

normal and harmless. It is due to burning of the protec�ve substance applied to the hea�ng 

elements in the factory. A�er re–assembling your oven, we recommend that you turn on both 

upper and lower hea�ng tubes for 15 minutes. This will eliminate packing residue that remains 

a�er shipping. This will also remove all traces of odor ini�ally present.

BEFORE INITIAL USE

Using Hotplates

Ensure the appliance is unplugged from mains power supply. Place the oven on flat, level and stable 

surface ensuring the area within 10cm above and 5cm from each side and back of the heater is clear of 

any objects and walls. When correctly set up, plug the appliance in to the mains power supply. 

Using func�on switches, you can control the hotplate or oven func�ons. Below is explana�on of symbols 

used on the appliance:

You can use one of the hotplates or both hotplates simultaneously. Using the ‘HOTPLATE’ dial 

(C)

 select 

one of the above se�ngs to use le�, right or both hotplates. Please note the �mer does not control the 

hotplate func�ons.

1. Place the filled saucepan on the hotplate.

2. Set the func�on switch using the ‘HOTPLATE’ dial (C). The indicator light (B) illuminates when the 

hotplate is in opera�on. 

3. Once the food is cooked sufficiently, set the ‘HOTPLATE’ switch to ‘OFF’ posi�on.
