the bunk bed will be placed next to a wall, the guard rail that runs the full length of the bed

placed against the wall to prevent entrapment between the bed and the wall.

Below is the warning label that appears on the upper bunk end structure.
Do not
remove this label from the bed.
ONLY
use a mattress that is 74" to 75" long and 38" to 39" wide on the upper bunk.
MAKE SURE
that the
thickness of the upper bunk mattress and foundation which might include a Bunkie Board,
does not
exceed TEN INCHES. The total combined height of the mattress and foundation
MUST BE
at least
FIVE INCHES below the upper edge of the guard rails.
DO NOT REMOVE THIS LABEL
● Never allow a child under 6 years of age on the upper bunk.
● Only use a mattress that is 74"- 75" long and 38"−39" wide on the upper bunk.
● Make sure the thickness of the mattress does not exceed 10 " and the
mattress is at least 5" below the upper edge of the guardrails.
● Use guardrails on both sides of the upper bunk.
● Prohibit horseplay on or under the bed(s).
● Prohibit more than one person on the upper bunk.
● Use the ladder for entering and leaving the upper bunk.
● Periodically check and ensure that the guard rails, ladder and other
components are in their proper positions, free from damage and that all
connectors are tight.
STRANGULATION HAZARD - Never attach or hang items to any part of the bunk
bed that are not designed for use with the bed; for example, but not limited to,
hooks, belts, and jump ropes.
