Seat Adjustment
WARNING:
Before operating this machine,
make sure the seat is engaged in the seat
stop, stand behind the machine and pull back
on seat until fully engaged into stop.
To adjust the position of the seat, move the seat
adjustment lever (located under the seat) to the left and
slide the seat forward or rearward. See Figure 13. Make
sure seat is locked into one of the six adjustment
positions before operating the tractor.
Neutral Adjustment
If the tractor’s control handles do NOT return to the
neutral (STOP) position upon releasing them, the
handles are in need of adjustment. Do not operate the
tractor. Contact your White Outdoor dealer to have the
control handles properly adjusted.
Control Cable Adjustment
If the tractor drifts to either the right or the left with the
control handles positioned directly opposite each other
while traveling, the control cable on the tractor’s left
transmission can be adjusted to help straighten the
tractor’s path of travel. To do so, proceed as follows:
NOTE:
However slight, every lawn has grade
imperfections. No lawn is 100 percent level in all
directions. As a result of this and other factors (e.g.
control cable tension and transmission fluid
temperature), no amount of adjustment will result in a
perfectly straight direction of travel with or without the
control handles positioned directly opposite each other.
•
Locate the adjustment yoke on the left, rear area of
the lawn tractor. See Figure 14.
•
Loosen the jam nut found to the rear of the yoke,
threaded onto the control cable. See Figure 14.
•
Remove the hairpin clip securing the yoke to the
transmission and slide the clevis pin out of the
yoke. See Figure 14. Save both pins as they will be
reinstalled in later steps.
If the tractor is drifting slightly to the RIGHT, rotate the
yoke 180° (½ turn) clockwise.
If the tractor is drifting slightly to the LEFT, rotate the
yoke 180° (½ turn) counter-clockwise.
•
Reinsert the clevis pin removed early and secure it
with a replacement hairpin clip.
•
Retighten the jam nut against the adjustment yoke.
•
Test drive the tractor to see if there is a significant
improvement. If there isn’t, contact your White
Outdoor dealer
to have the transmissions “fine-
tune” adjusted.
