Installation:
IMPORTANT! The lightbar should be located a minimum of 16" from
any radio antennas!
Mounting:
1.
Following factory instructions remove the rear brake light assembly. Be aware of
how you disconnect the light for reconnection later.
2.
Remove the factory screw anchors from around the brake light openings and
secure the supplied mounting plate(s) into the opening(s). For vehicles with 2
mounting plates, the Driver and Passenger side plates are marked with a D or P
(Figs 1 & 2).
3.
To allow the gaskets to slide while positioning the rack on the mounting surface,
spread a small amount of mild soapy water over the mounting area.
4.
Install the QuickFit onto the vehicle by securing it to the installed mounting
plate(s) using the supplied hardware and spacers (Figs. 1 & 2).
NOTE: The Dodge/GM install uses different holes in the QuickFit.
5.
Plug the 3rd brake light back in and install it onto the QuickFit as shown using
the original mounting hardware (Fig. 3). Be sure to tighten all hardware firmly!
Installing to the QuickFit:
• Mount your product to the cover (shipped unmounted) and secure the cover
to the QuickFit with supplied hardware. Tighten hardware to 18 - 20 in/lbs
• IMPORTANT: Holes drilled for mounting or wire access can not be less than 2
inches from the sides and 1 inch from the front and rear (See diagram).
• There is a pilot hole provided inside the QuickFit to run the cable of the
product you mount. Determine the size you will need for your cable and
widen this hole to accommodate the cable.
•
After running the cable(s), seal holes with RTV sealer.
