Preparing the power supply for flash pattern capability...
1.
Disconnect the Mini-Edge lightbar from its power source.
WARNING: DO NOT PROCEED WITH ANY DISASSEMBLY UNTIL
THE LIGHTBAR HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED FROM
ITS POWER SOURCE FOR A PERIOD OF AT LEAST 10
(TEN) MINUTES!
2.
Remove all of the lenses and endcaps from the lightbar
extrusion.
3.
Remove the two phillips head screws that secure the
power supply from the extrusion.Carefully pull the power
supply away from the extrusion, but do NOT disconnect
any of the power supply connections.
4.
Locate the unused 4 position/3 wire AMP connector
attached to the power supply. This connector will be using
3 (three) wires in the following pin configuration:
Position 1
BLUE wire
Position 2
Empty (not used)
Position 3
BROWN wire
Position 4
WHITE wire
5.
Locate the 4 position/2 wire Flash Pattern Control Harness
provided (See Fig.1). This connector will be using 2 (two)
wires in the following pin configuration:
Position 1
Empty (not used)
Position 2
Empty (not used)
Position 3
BROWN wire
Position 4
WHITE wire
6.
Plug the Flash Pattern Control Harness into the AMP
connector identified in step 4.
7.
Disconnect the power supply from the Power Input Cable
(cigar cord).
8.
Locate the Power Supply Input Adaptor Harness provided
(See Fig.2).
9.
Plug one end of the Power Supply Input Adaptor Harness
into the power supply input connection, and plug the other
end into the Power Input Cable (cigar cord) as shown in
Fig.2..
The power supply is now ready for flash pattern configuration.
Configuring the power supply for flash patterns...
1.
Locate the loose wires on the Flash Pattern Control
Harness (BROWN & WHITE). Inserting these wires into the
butt splice connector of the Power Supply Input Adaptor
Harness (either as a pair or individually) enables one of
four specific flash patterns:
For this Flash Pattern
Insert these Wire(s)
Comet Flash
No Wires (default Pattern)
Double Flash
BROWN Wire
Random
WHITE Wire
Sequential
BROWN & WHITE Wire
NOTE:
If a wire is not used to configure the desired flash pattern, be
sure to trim and tape the exposed (non-insulated) end of that wire.
2.
After the desired flash pattern has been determined, insert
the appropriate wires into the butt splice connector. Using a
suitable tool, crimp the butt splice connector tightly to
secure the wires into place. A gentle tug on these wires will
confirm their tightness.
3.
Carefully tuck the power supply wires back into the
extrusion and return the power supply to its original
mounting location. Using the original screws, remount the
power supply and return the lens’ and endcaps to their
proper location. Secure the endcaps in place with their
original mounting screws.
4.
Connect the lightbar to its power source and confirm proper
operation.
