2.

For mounting of the RX-1419 to the wall.

A.  Plumbers mounting straps are recommended such as, Jones Stephens Corp plumbest, perforated hanger iron, part #

H20 002P - note this is not supplied.

3.

Insure that the RX1419 is level.

INSTALLATION INFORMATION

(for mounting into the 163 – figure 1)

1.

Open the unit and remove the cardboard packing strip.

2.

Mount the backbox (with built-in relay) to the wall by spacing the 3 mounting screws (not provided) as shown in the Mounting
Diagram.

3.

Place the appliance unit/grille assembly onto the hinges of the backbox.

4.

Connect the green ground wire from the appliance to the ground screw located on the AC receptacle (mounted in the backbox).

5.

Plug the power cord from the appliance into the receptacle which is located on the side of the relay.

6.

Plug the relay cord into the backbox receptacle.

7.

Bring the modular telephone cord or other installation cable, through the hole in the bottom of the backbox (on the right side).
Connect to RX-1419 relay (located in backbox) for appropriate input voltage, as follows:

A.  Telephone AC ringing voltage (60-150V, 20-30Hz):  When using a modular cable, insert plug into RJ-11C jack on relay.  Be

sure flying leads (wires with terminal lugs, next to RJ-11C jack) are connected as follows:

Green TIP wire to COM terminal

Red RING wire to LO terminal

When wiring directly to screw terminals on relay, connect TIP (Green) to COM terminal and RING (Red) to LO terminal.

NOTE:

If telephone AC Ring Voltage is below 60V (minimum 39V), then connect RING (Red) to HI terminal.

B. 18-48VDC:  Connect negative (-) wire directly to COM terminal and positive (+) wire directly to DC terminal.

C.  30-48VAC, 60 Hz:  Connect directly to COM and 60 Hz terminal.

8.  Close the grille and tighten the 4 screws.

9.  Plug the backbox power cord into the local 115VAC line power.
