IV
Set up the steel frame in the desired place on an even, solid surface.
Please keep in mind that some water may splash over the rim of a bowl, do
not set up the cascade fountain on a surface which may be damaged by
water.
Place the big terracotta bowl in the bottom ring of the steel frame. Lead the
water hose on the terracotta jar through the small wire rings on the steel
frame and set the jar up on the top of the frame. After that, place the small
terracotta bowls into the wire rings on the steel frame. Place the bowls in
such a way that the spouts empty into the next lower bowl.
Set the lower end of the water hose onto the exhaust pipe of the water
pump and place the pump in the large terracotta bowl. The pump can be
fixed in place with the suction cups. Run the power cable over the rim of
the bowl and fill the large bowl with water. Do not use other liquids than
water and do not allow the pump to run dry. Do not put fish or small
animals into the bowl.
Connect the solar panel to the power cable of the pump and set the solar
panel up in such a way that it is exposed to as much direct sunlight as
possible. You can use the stand mounted at the rear of the solar panel.
After the pump has been set up it may take some time until the water has
passed through the hose and appears in the jar. To speed up the process,
some water can be filled into the jar to fill the hose.
The terracotta bowls are in principle frost resistant, but we still recommend
emptying the fountain during the winter and storing it in a dry place without
water.
In case you want plan to use the solar cascade fountain inside in rooms
with no direct sunlight, we recommend to operate the pump by means of a
universal immersion pump (Westfalia Art. No. 13 90 48). This pump can be
powered by a regular wall power supply (6-12 V
, 100 mA).
Do not let the pump run dry.
