Safety Instructions
Positioning your lamp:
•
Place the lamp on a flat and stable surface, where it cannot fall, as the lamps
are surprisingly heavy for their size.
•
Place the lamp only on a strong, secure surface, as it is heavy and could cause
shelving or furniture to break or fall.
•
Lamps can leave a salty residue, so protect delicate surfaces from direct
contact with the lamp base.
•
Check that the cable is not dangling where the cable can be pulled or caught,
causing the lamp to fall. The lamp will damage anything that gets in its path
and could result in serious injury or death.
•
Keep
Young Children Under 8 Years Old
away from the lamp – so place
somewhere where they cannot access it.
•
Keep
Pets and Animals
away from the lamps as they may lick the salt and this
may make them unwell.
Use, Maintenance and Care for your lamp:
•
The lamp may be used by children over the age of 8 years and by persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity or persons with a lack of
experience or knowledge if they
are supervised
or have been
instructed
by
a responsible person.
•
Children must not carry out maintenance work or cleaning.
•
Humidity in the air can cause the lamp to become damp. If this happens,
simply wipe down with a cloth and move to a warm, dry area to dry the lamp
out.
Take care when unplugging, that your hands are not wet if you have
handled the damp lamp.
Electrical care and maintenance:
This lamp operates with 240v of electricity and is fitted with a 3amp fuse. Always
treat electrical items with respect and operate safely. If you see any damage, do not
use the lamp until the problem is fixed. Only use the lamp in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. Always use the correct fuse. Check that the terminal
screws are tight and that there are no visible wires.
Before using the lamp please check that the power cable is intact by checking
the following before you use each time:
•
There is no damage to the lead including fraying, cuts or heavy scuffing.
•
There is no damage to the plug; eg to the cover or bent pins.
•
There are no visible wires where the lead joins the plug.

lead or lamp.
•
Check that the cables are not trapped under furniture or other heavy objects.
•
Check that the lamp has not been used or stored in unsuitable conditions
such as wet or dusty environments or where water spills are possible.
