Insert transponder into charger. When
charging, both the green and red LED in-
dicators will be lit. The red LED indicator
will turn off once the transponder is fully
charged (~3-4 hours). Once removed from
the charger, the transponder will remain
powered on for ~7 days. The number of
blinks indicates the approximate number of
days of charge left. Once red LED on the
transponder begins to blink, the transponder
needs to be recharged.
The G3 MX transponder can be mounted
using a pouch or a bracket.
MOUNT THE
TRANSPONDER VERTICALLY
with the
label readable and in an upright position.
Mounting the transponder horizontally will
result in poor performance.
There should
be NO metal or carbon fiber between the
transponder and the track. The transponder
must have a clear shot to the ground.
Sig-
nals can go through plastic so it is possible
to use a piece of plastic as a mounting plate.
Typical Storage Between Races:
When transponders are not in use, they
should be placed into an unplugged charger
to conserve battery charge. Storage outside
of a charger is also possible, but the battery
will continue to drain.
Ideal charging conditions:
10~45°
60±25%R.H.
Ideal storage conditions:
-20~25 °
60±25%R.H.
Long Term Storage:
Transponders should not be stored for long
periods of time without charging. Otherwise,
the battery will completely discharge and be-
come unusable. Charge transponders every
2 to 3 months.
Dirt, water, fuel, oil and other compounds
left on the charging contacts and screws
will increase the chances for corrosion. We
recommend cleaning your transponder after
each use. Transponder surfaces may be
cleaned with 70% Isopropyl alcohol. Care
must be taken if stronger cleaning products
are used. The charging contacts on the G3
MX rechargeable transponder are stainless
steel with nickel plating. Compounds which
have adverse reactions with these materials
must be avoided.
It is recommended the charging contacts on
both the G3 MX rechargeable transponder
and charger be cleaned periodically to main-
tain a good charging surface. Oil and dirt
contamination will hinder good contact and
charging may not occur.
