Using
Intended Use
The foot-operated log splitter is intended for splitting seasoned and fresh cut soft
wood. Make sure the logs are straight-cut and do not contain branches, nails,
wires or other metal parts.
Preparation and Using
1. Prepare the piece of wood to be split to the largest possible dimension. Make
sure that the wood is cut straight.
The max. allowed length of the log to be processed is 430 mm, the min.
diameter is 60 mm and the max. diameter is 220 mm.
NOTE: The log diameter is a recommended guideline. Keep in mind that even
thin wood can be difficult to split if it contains knots or if the fibres are too
strong. Do not split wet wood. Dry logs and seasoned logs without branches
can be split much easier.
2. Use the adjusting screw (10) to setup the desired
working height/lifting height (figure D). The higher
the working height is set, the less you will have to
push down the pedal in order to split the log. The
working height can be adjusted from 380 –
530 mm. Setup the working height/lifting height
starting as high as possible
and then adjust it to
your needs.
3. Remove the protective cap (11) from the wedge.
The device is now ready for use.
4. Set the log splitter on a level, non-slip
surface. Make sure that the work area is
free from tripping hazards.
Before each use, check that all screws are
tight.
5. Insert the log elongated and flat between
the two guide bars (5). Release the log ram
(6) from the magnet (4) and press the log
ram (6) against the log (figure E).
6. Press down the foot pedal (3) several times
with your foot until the log is split (figure F). Always allow the lever to return to
its original position so the log ram can engage in the next snap position.
