Charging the Battery
Charge the battery before first use.
In contrast to Ni-Ca or MH batteries lithium-ion batteries do not have a
memory effect. The capacity of other batteries decreases steadily but the
capacity of lithium-ion batteries does not decrease. The capacity remains
constant until the electronics interrupts discharging. The cordless screwdriver
will stop abruptly, if the charging level of the battery falls below a certain value.
Regardless of the charging condition, the battery can be charged at any time
without damaging the cells.
1. Connect the power cord of the charger with a wall socket. The power
control lamp of the charger lights up in green colour.
2. Connect the charger with the cordless screwdriver. The charging control
light will turn to red colour while charging the battery.
Please note that during charging process, battery and charger heat up
slightly.
Charging process will take approx. 3 – 5 hours. Please note that charging
process will not be automatically switched off. Disconnect the screwdriver
from the charger after the necessary charging time and unplug the charger
from power mains.
You will recognize the end of charging time as soon as the charging con-
trol light will light up green.
Turning ON and OFF
1. To turn the screwdriver on, press the ON/OFF trigger (3). To turn off the
screwdriver, release the trigger.
2. The ON/OFF trigger is also used to govern the rotation speed. The deeper
the trigger is pressed, the faster the unit runs.
3. By pressing the rotating direction switch (2) the rotating direction can be
reversed. In the middle position the ON/OFF trigger is locked. Set the
switch in this position when laying down the machine to avoid an acciden-
tal start-up.
If the upper arrow of the rotating direction indicator (6) will light up green,
the screwdriver is running in right direction. If the bottom arrow will light up
green the machine is running in left direction.
The rotating direction switch can only be pressed, while the ON/OFF trig-
ger is released.
