Using
Before first Use
Unpack the sound level meter and check it for any damage in
transit. Dispose of packaging materials or store them out of reach of
children. Plastic bags etc. may become a deadly toy for children!
Inserting/Replacing the Batteries
The sound level meter is operated by a 9 V battery of the type
6LR61. We recommend only using alkaline batteries.
1. Use the range dial (2) to switch off the unit (position
OFF ).
2. The battery compartment is located at the rear side of the unit.
Unscrew the small screw of the battery compartment lid (8) and
remove the lid.
3. Insert a new 9 V battery into the battery compartment. Pay
attention to the polarity of the battery. The polarity is printed
inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment with the lid and secure the lid with
the small screw.
Battery Test
Before each use check the battery level. Set the range dial (2) to the
BATT position. If the meter shows a reading in the red BATT TEST
section of the display, the battery is still good.
Notes:
ƒ When the battery is spent, the precision of the meter becomes
lower.
ƒ Always switch off the unit when it is not in use (position OFF ).
ƒ Remove the battery if you do not intend to use the unit for a
longer period of time.
