Band saw will not start
(no sound whatsoever).
Saw not plugged in.
Plug in saw.
Power switch turned OFF, or
safety key not inserted.
Insert safety key and turn saw ON.
Improper size/length of exten-
sion cord.
Use proper extension cord. Refer to chart on p. 6.
Bad outlet.
Try another outlet, or have a qualified electrician check/
replace outlet.
Defective power switch.

Band saw will not start
(humming sound).
Blade overtightened.
Adjust blade tension properly (see "ADJUSTING BLADE
TENSION").
Belt overtightened.
Adjust belt tension properly (see "ADJUSTING THE

Bad start capacitor.

Bad motor bearing, or bad

Blade will not track
