TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

WARNING!

Band saw will not start 

(no sound whatsoever).

Saw not plugged in.

Plug in saw.

Power switch turned OFF, or 

safety key not inserted.

Insert safety key and turn saw ON.

Improper size/length of exten-

sion cord.

Use proper extension cord. Refer to chart on p. 6.

Bad outlet.

Try another outlet, or have a qualified electrician check/

replace outlet.

Defective power switch.

Contact customer service (1-800-232-1195) for as-

sistance.

Band saw will not start 

(humming sound).

Blade overtightened.

Adjust blade tension properly (see "ADJUSTING BLADE 

TENSION").

Belt overtightened.

Adjust belt tension properly (see "ADJUSTING THE 

CUTTING SPEED").

Bad start capacitor.

Contact customer service (1-800-232-1195) for as-

sistance.

Bad motor bearing, or bad 

motor.

Contact customer service (1-800-232-1195) for as-

sistance.

Blade will not track

properly.

Blade is improperly ten-

sioned.

Adjust blade tension properly (see "ADJUSTING

Tracking knob is over-

adjusted.
