When the 9600 plus and adapter temperature is stable, put the CareTemp thermometer in 
calibration mode. Place the CareTemp in the adapter and  press the measure button. 
When the green LED flashes remove the CareTemp thermometer from adapter and read 
thermometers temperature. 
If the temperature is /- 0.2
