The Pulse Oximeter works by shining
two light beams into the small
vessels or capillaries of the

determine the user’s the blood oxygen
satura
Ɵ on percentage and pulse rate
that is then displayed on the Pulse Oximeter’s screen. The unit
uses the phrase
͞ SpO2 ͟ to iden Ɵ fy the oxygen satura Ɵ on level
and displays it as a percentage of full capacity (100%). Pulse
rate is iden
ƟĮ ed by the phrase ͞ P Z bpm ͟ and is displayed as
beats per minute.
USING YOUR PULSE O y IMETER
The Pulse Oximeter may be used while the user is seated ͕
standing or lying down. The user should not be walking or run-
ning during measurements and should take care not to exces-
sively move the arm or hand where the oximeter is a
Ʃ ached.
