Introduction
1.1 Intended use
The pressure reducers are used to supply medical oxygen at
reduced pressure for various medical and therapeutic devices as
well as for supplying oxygen to patients via application systems
(e.g., nasal cannulas, masks, humidifiers). The pressure reducers
are intended for connection to high-pressure oxygen cylinders
(cylinder pressure up to 20,000 kPa = 200 bar).
The pressure reducers are not intended for operation of surgical
instruments.
1.2 Function
The oxygen from the oxygen cylinder enters the pressure reducer
through the connecting bolt with hand-screwed connection and
two filters in series.
When the cylinder valve is open, the cylinder pressure can be read
off the contents indicator.
Depending on the type of device, the cylinder pressure is reduced
to between 0.5 bar and max. 6 bar in the pressure reducer.
All pressure reducers are protected against excessive pressure by a
safety valve.
1.3 Operator and user qualification
As the user, you must be fully familiar with the correct operation
of this medical device. Observe the statutory requirements for
operation and use (in Germany, particularly the German
regulations governing owners/operators of medical devices
(MPBetreibV)).
General recommendation: You should seek instruction on the
correct handling, use, and operation of the medical device from a
person authorized by WEINMANN Emergency.
