MAINTENANCE, CLEANING & STORAGE
WARNING
Improper maintenance & storage of the machine may void your warranty.
Keep the machine clean for be
tt
er and safer performance.
MAINTENANCE
Before each use, check all nuts & bolts to be sure they are su
ffic
iently
tigh
tened.
We recommend only manufacturer o
rigin
al parts are used when maintainin
g
this machine. Failure to do so
could invalidate your manufacturer’s warranty.
The en
gi
ne must be switched o
ff
, with the spark plu
g c
ap removed, before the machine is unassembled,
cleaned, serviced or maintained.
ADJUSTING CARBURETOR
Do not adjust carburetor unless necessary. If you have trouble with the carburetor, see your dealer. Improper
adjustment may cause en
gin
e d
amag
e and void warranty.
SPARK PLUG
Check the Spark Plu
g
a
fter
every 10-15 hours of use.
Remove the Spark Plu
g c
ap
Usin
g
the Spark Plu
g S
panner supplied, remove the Spark Plu

Clean & adjust the electrode
g
ap to 0.6-0.7mm
If the Spark Plu

s visibly dam
aged
or worn, replace immediately (See Speci

BLADE SHARPENING
Never a
tt
empt to sharpen the blade. It is reversible, so should be turned over when blunt. The blade must
remain balanced; an unbalanced blade will cause excessive vibra
ti
on throu
g
h the machine. Always check
for any d
amag
e before each use and replace a dama
g
ed blade immediately, with an approved
replacement part.
CLEANING
Keep your machine clean.
Thoroughly clean the machine at the end of each use, paying par

s in and around
the guard and cu
tti

AIR FILTER
Accumulated dust in the air
fi
lter will reduce en
gi
ne e
ffic
iency, increase fuel consump
ti
on and allow abrasive
par
ticl
es to pass in the en
gin
e. Remove & clean the a
ir fi
lter re
g
ularly to ensure op
tim
um performance.
Remove the air
filt
er cover, by releasin

the cover.
Remove the spon

Tap the
fi
lter to remove
lig
ht surface dust.
Heavy deposits should be washed out of the Air Filter in soapy water. Allow the
filt
er to dry completely.
FUEL FILTER
The fuel tank is
fitte
d with a
fi
lter. It is situated at the free end of fuel pipe and can be picked out throu
g
h
the fuel
fi
ller neck, with a piece of hooked wire or similar.
Check the fuel
filt
er periodically. Do not allow dust to enter into the fuel tank. A
clogg
ed
fi
lter will cause
di

n
g
the en
gi
ne or abnormali
ti
es in en
gine
performance.
When the
fi
lter is dirty, replace the
fi
lter.
When the inside of the fuel tank is dirty, it can be cleaned by rinsin
g
the tank out with petrol.
