UT representation formats
Ultrasonic data is collected and displayed in different
formats. The three most common formats are A-scan,
B-scan, and C-scan. Each presentation mode provides
a different way of looking at and evaluating the region of
part under inspection.
In the USM 100, the B-scan (2) and C-scan (3, 4) repre-
sentations are combined with the A-scan (1) represen-
tation and the associated functions on a special panel.
As in the normal A-scan representation (see from
page 79) the B-scan and the C-scan can be displayed in
normal mode or in zoom mode. To toggle between the
normal and the zoomed display, double-tap in the re-
spective view.
The "active" C-scan (3) of the USM 100 shows a
zoomed section from the entire C-scan (4). During the
scan, this section shows the area around the probe po-
sition so that you can observe the process more closely.
For the subsequent evaluation, you can select the zoom
area freely (see from page 235).
